Boğaziçi University Children's Learning Lab

The Children's Learning Laboratory (ÇÖL), established within the Department of Mathematics and Science Education at Boğaziçi University, conducts research on how children learn and how their learning can be enhanced. Our research focuses on learning key mathematical concepts and problem-solving procedures by emphasizing experiences that promote learning. Primary research topics include the role of pattern recognition skills learned at an early age in later mathematics learning, high school students' perceptions of algebraic expressions, the development of the number line concept in children of different ages, and the cognitive factors that influence this development.
