Teacher Learning Laboratory in Mathematics and Science Education
The professional development of teachers is a determinant of a country's educational quality. Adopting a long-term professional development approach in teacher education, this research laboratory aims to examine the professional development of pre-service and in-service mathematics and science teachers from a research perspective. Research projects supported by various public and private organizations (BAP, TUBITAK, etc.) are developed, and studies focused on teacher learning are conducted. The main topics of the studies carried out within the scope of the laboratory activities are as follows:
- Development of teachers' subject matter and pedagogical content knowledge;
- Designing, implementing, and examining professional development programs;
- Effective subject-specific teaching mentorship;
- Interdisciplinary mathematics education, STEM education;
- Teachers' knowledge and attitudes regarding assessment and evaluation.
