BounAdaptiveTestLab
The Boğaziçi University Adaptive Test Laboratory (BounAdaptiveTestLab) was established on September 22, 2021, with the aim of conducting scientific research on the assessment of academic achievement and psychological constructs through adaptive testing approaches. The laboratory’s primary areas of work include the design, implementation, and validation of Computerized Adaptive Tests (CATs) and Multistage Tests (MSTs). Projects conducted within the laboratory are supported by Boğaziçi University and TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye). These projects focus on the assessment of numerical skills at the K–12 level and the evaluation of in-service and preservice teacher competencies, resulting in the development of valid, reliable, and adaptive measurement instruments applicable in educational contexts. The laboratory promotes research on the theoretical foundations, software development processes, and practical applications of adaptive testing. To this end, it organizes academic training programs, symposiums, and workshops, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and exchange among researchers. The main objectives of the laboratory include the development of CAT- and MST-based measurement tools for assessing diverse academic and psychological constructs, the enhancement of educational quality through data-driven feedback derived from adaptive testing, and the analysis of learning outcomes based on individual differences. BounAdaptiveTestLab provides a research environment for graduate and doctoralstudents, visiting scholars, and postdoctoral researchers within Boğaziçi University. Furthermore, through national and international collaborations with other universities and research institutions, the laboratory aims to strengthen the overall research capacity in the field of adaptive testing.
